Hi,

Toni Drugmand, who is primarily an e-collar trainer and JCAC member, has classes at 32nd St, and Greenway. Although some people have issues with e-collars, I am convinced this training saved my dog’s life. I don’t usually respond to posts, but I have a dog with fear aggression, who I could not have managed without Toni’s help. Hope this helps your friend!

Dear Toni,

I wanted you to know that Glory has been completely rehabilitated and no longer has the “fear-biter” attitude. What an amazing
transformation in a dog. THANK YOU for your guidance thru this difficult time for Glory and me. You literally saved her life. We take her on walks and are no longer afraid she is going to attack other dogs. We will get back into classes next month as she truly enjoys obedience school.

Just thought you would like to hear a REAL success dog story.

Sincerely,
Avis Culbert and Glory

Though very sweet and obedient with my wife and I, she would bark, growl and lunge at visitors to our home. Though very sweet and obedient with my wife and I, she would bark, growl and lunge at visitors to our home. Taking her for a walk was nearly impossible, as she would simply lose all self-control at the sight of another dog. When we had the demonstration of DOG-ON-IT’s training methodology, she exhibited all of these less-than-lovely traits.

We decided to try the training – the change has been incredible. The combination of DOG-ON-IT’s techniques, the training collar and exercise have made a world of difference. Lucy was reacting to new stimuli out of fear; now we are able to break through her strong initial adverse reactions and get her attention to reassure her. Her newfound confidence surprises me everyday and makes teaching new skills very easy. She is now able to meet new people and dogs without anxiously overreacting. A sniff and a kiss and she’s ready to play.

So, big thanks to the DOG-ON-IT team for their hard work with Lucy, and more importantly, us, as the owners. Lucy thanks you too!

Harry was about 9 months-old when he and his brother came to live with me and my two other dogs. I was told he was shy around men and also had a few medical issues, which he got over. But what was perceived to be shyness actually was distrust and aggression. We did training: positive reinforcement, clicker, treats. I even had a trainer come to the house to help, but even after two months he still couldn’t approach Harry unless I had him on a leash. He wouldn’t walk on a leash and he jumped up and around like a crazy dog. He didn’t like anyone except me and that was only sometimes. I tried for months using the Gentle Leader and no-pull harness. All this did was make him fight harder. He would actually bloody his nose and paws trying to escape. I was getting desperate. Nothing was working.

Life was pretty miserable with a dog that was out of control. For the first time in my life I actually had to consider euthanasia. This dog was just not responding to anything. By chance I heard a discussion about e-collars and did some research. I found Toni Drugmand and DOG-ON-IT. I called and explained my desperation and was told “sure, bring him for a demo.” So I muzzled him and went. I was impressed enough with her demo and we started attending classes. He was starting to calm down and listen but I was concerned about his attitude and demeanor. I wasn’t going to give up. If this was his last chance, I needed to be fair about it. One night about eight weeks into it, we were heeling in a group and Harry’s tail was up and wagging and he was having a grand old time. He got it! After that it was all a pleasure. He couldn’t wait to get to class and was a happy camper while he was there.

He is such a different dog these days. He is loving at home and looks forward to working and being invited to DOG-ON-IT demos. He needs a tune-up now and then but he really is an example of how the remote collar saved a dog by helping him understand the need to change. It has taught us both how to effectively communicate with each other. I am so thankful I never had to make that fatal choice.

Happy dog and happy owner! Thanks to Toni.

Just wanted to thank you so much for helping me and Emma. I admit, I did have reservations about the e-collar in relation to Emma’s issues and personality. As several people had highly recommended you and your training, I thought I should at least try and see if we could improve Emma’s quality of life. I am so incredibly happy and impressed with the progress Emma has made in only two short months! She has been rudely approached by a number of dogs since we began classes with you, and she has consistently kept her cool and made good choices despite the obvious discomfort she was feeling. Even if I decide not to show her again in agility, her happiness has increased to the point of truly improving all aspects of her life.

To my surprise, I am enjoying the structure and respect of our new partnership and am considering trying rally and maybe even obedience with Emma! I will continue to train Emma for agility and perhaps may trial her someday again too. I very much appreciate the certificate you sent us. It has an honored place in Emma’s paperwork folder. We will continue to come to Monday morning classes through the summer and beyond and will start adding some advanced classes in the fall. Our summer schedule got busier than I had expected. Who knows, maybe Todd will even venture out again to a class or two!

Thanks again for all you have done for me and Emma. Goodness knows, we have issues of our own and most of the times, more than the dogs!!
